In India, specifically in Madhya Pradesh, locals attempted to make a historical record. They aimed to become a new Guinness World Record holder when 1.5 million volunteers planted more than 66 million tree saplings in just 12 hours along the Narmada river.

Apparently, this effort is a massive improvement from the state of Uttar Pradeshโ€™s previous record-breaking feat when 800,000 volunteers planted 50 million trees in one day in July 2016.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the MP CM said, โ€œI am extremely proud to happily share that people of Madhya Pradesh successfully planted 6.63 Crore saplings today.โ€

โ€œI am greatly indebted to all who are planting trees today,โ€ Chouhan told India.com. โ€œWe will be contributing significantly in saving nature. By participating in a plantation, people are contributing their bit to climate change initiatives and saving the environment.โ€

When we see โ€˜green colorโ€™, it reminds us of trees, plants, grass etc. Trees are the best living creatures on the planet because it gives the necessary oxygen to the humans, animals and other living species. To emphasize the importance of trees, in particular, they are selfless creatures that donโ€™t ask anything in return barring the plethora supply of water.

With a steady decline of trees due to the infamous deforestation activities, the planet is losing its core part of trees. Without trees, life on earth is unimaginable and planting trees should be our main motive.

Should we try this in the Philippines? What do you think?
