‘The Witcher’ only launched on Netflix a couple of weeks ago, but showrunner Lauren Hissrich already has plans for the story to go all the way to Season 7. ‘The Witcher’ is based on the fantasy books by Andrzej Sapkowski and revolves around a witcher, Geralt of Rivia, who is basically a powerful mutant monster hunter.
Season had already been confirmed before the series was even released on the streaming services, and Season 3 has reportedly also been approved. According to GamesRadar, Lauren actually already has plans for a possible seven seasons. We really wouldn’t be surprised if the series lasts that long, seeing as how popular it currently is all over the world. That aside, it’s nice to know that the story has already been mapped out that far. That just means that Lauren has really put a lot of thought into how the characters can grow as the series goes along.
Although Season 1 worked as more of a setup for the characters and their backgrounds, Season 2 promises to show the main characters all working together. Given the books and the video game that were released way before the series, there is a lot of source material to work with and a lot of things to be explored in the Witcher universe. I, for one, cannot wait to see how the series will evolve through the years.
