The Way “Rugrats” Celebrated Chuckie Finster’s Mom Brought Tears to My Eyes

Chuckie Mom Rugrats

For most ’90s kids, the Rugrats was a defining part of their childhood. The Nickelodeon cartoon followed a group of babies as they dealt with the world around them. It may sound simple when you put it like that, but the misadventures of Tommy Pickles, his brother Dill, and their friends Chuckie, Phil and Lil, Angelica, Susie, and Kimi are pretty funny.

One of the recurring themes of the show is how Chuckie lives only with his father. We don’t really hear much about his mother… until this episode. Here, Chuckie’s mom, named Melinda, writes a poem for him before she passes away. We have to say, our hearts broke a little.

Watch it below:

In the clip, Chuckie’s father Chaz is finally ready to share his memories with him. Chuckie then realizes that his mom is still with him in flowers, the clouds, the grass, and the wind.
