Netflix just surprised anime fans everywhere after it finally dropped the full-length trailer of one of its much-awaited anime adaptations: “The Way of the Househusband”!
In the official trailer, we are introduced to a man named Tatsu who was once the most feared yakuza leader who has since turned his back on the life of crime to become a loyal househusband to his beloved wife.
The manga series was written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono and was first published in 2018. It was then adapted into a live-action television drama by Nippon TV in 2020 before being picked up by Netflix to turn into an original anime show.
The series merely follows Tatsu and his funny, zany, and wacky adventures just fulfilling his duties of cleaning the house, creating the best bento lunches, and running errands around the city, all while proving himself as a changed man during his frequent run-ins with former yakuza associates and foes.
“The Way of the Househusband” has earned positive reviews and even garnered multiple awards and nominations from various institutions and publications in Japan.

The show is set to premiere on Netflix on April 8.
