The Handmaids Tale Season 2

If you were one of the many fans of the TV adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale, we have great news for you: the second season’s first trailer came out and it is pretty intense.

Watch it below:

Without going into spoilers for those who haven’t seen it, The Handmaid’s Tale is set in a dystopian future where a select group of women called Handmaids are forced into “sexual and child-bearing servitude.”

It is adapted from Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, which was published in 1985. It received many awards, including the Governor General’s Award in 1985 and the first Arthur C. Clarke Award in 1987. It has also been adapted into a movie in 1990 and an opera in 2000.

The series stars Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, OT Fagbenle, Max Minghella, and Samira Wiley.

It has been critically lauded, winning eight out of 13 nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards. Rotten Tomatoes describes the series as “haunting and vivid,” “endlessly engrossing,” and called Moss’s performance as “terrific.”

The second season will be available on Hulu in April.
