If you’re a parent, then you will know the amazing power thatย children’s shows can have on the energy and the mood of children. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of live children’s shows in the Philippines that we can turn to whenever our kids get bored. That’s why I was ecstatic when I heard that the Superdudes were coming to town to launch their first ever live stage shows.
That’s right. Stevie Nicholson, formerly from Hi-5, decided to turn his popular children’s book “Superdudes” into a live stage show and their launch city of choice? Manila, Philippines! How lucky are we?
In case you haven’t heard of it yet, “Superdudes” is a funny and quirky children’s book with illustrations and words that focus onย capturing the imagination of children in a playful and engaging way. Its main theme?ย That absolutely anyone and anything can be Super! Stevie shares that he came up with this book because he wanted kids to be able to look up to superheroes who aren’t violent and who advocate good causes and morals.
Stevie is accompanied byย the rest of the awesome Superdudes – Nick Rudrich as Pencil Pirate, Simon McLachlan as Bubble Trouble, andย Allyce Martins as Flutterby – on their mall shows around Manila. Out of all of the places in the world, the Superdudes share that they chose to launch the mall show in Manila because the feedback and support of the Filipinos have been incredibly amazing so far.
It goes without saying that the Superdudes are truly enjoying themselves – so much so that performing for the kids here doesn’t even feel like a job to them anymore.
Sadly, theย Superdudesย only have one weekend left of book signings, shows and VIP workshops here before they head to Iloilo, though, so make sure you don’t miss themย at Century City Mall on April 16 at 1:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm.ย A ticket of Php1,500 admits 1 child and 1 adult and comes with a free Php1,500 worth of Century City Mall Gift Certificates! See you there? ๐
Tickets are available at www.ticketworld.com.phย and at the Concierge booth at the ground level of Century City Mall (705-6200 loc. 111/112).
