If you grew up watching Disney Channel, you would remember beloved cartoon The Proud Family which follows the daily life of 14-year-old Penny Proud who loves hanging out with her friends and often gets embarrassed by her overbearing father.
Now, Penny is making a comeback as original creators, Bruce W. Smith, Ralph Farquhar, and Calvin Brown, have announced that it is reviving the series for Disney+ with the original voice cast and will be calling it The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder!
“In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell,” Smith and Farquhar said in a statement. “It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us.”
It’s been 18 years since the show last aired on television. All original Proud Family episodes have been made available for streaming on Disney+.
It has yet to be revealed when the series revival will premiere.
