The Primary at UP Town Center: Prime Location For Great Food & Great Drinks With Good Friends + A GIVEAWAY!

 

Drinks and food that go well with drinks:

Aside from all the good food, The Primary is a great place to be grabbing drinks. The place has great alcohol options, with their menu ranging from wine, to cocktails, and even shooters. Compared to other establishments in UP Town Center that I’ve been to, this restaurant has the most decent bar list. 

It doesn’t hurt that that bar list is accompanied by really great food!

Buffalo Shrimp (PHP 235): Deep-fried breaded white shrimp, tossed in buffalo sauce, and served with gorgonzola dip. If you are a buffalo wings lover, this is a definite must try. Imagine the same flavour with a different texture. This is just delicious! It is also a healthier seafood option, if you think about it.

 

Hot Scampi Shrimps with Artichokes (PHP 305): Sautéed white shrimps in artichokes, garlic, and chilies in extra virgin olive oil. Also part of my Primary must try list, this dish reminds me of a seafood version of salpicao but with a definite twist. The shrimp and artichoke complements the other’s flavours perfectly.

 

Beef Salpicao (PHP 298): Marinated beef tenderloin cubes, cooked in olive oil and roasted garlic slivers. Ah this is my favorite. I’ve always believed that one cannot go wrong with splice but this dish went above my expectations.

 

Sautéed Hungarian Sausage with Bell Pepper (PHP 245): Sautéed in olive oil, red and green bell pepper, onions. Typical drinking fare, perfect with wine or even a few beers!

 

Grilled Chicken Quesadilla (PHP 365): Served with mango-jalapeno salsa and sour cream. Mango salsa with the quesadilla is a match made in food heaven!

 

Mixed Appetizer Sampler (PHP 495): Steak skewers, bruschetta with tomato salsa, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, and vegetable crudites. Perfect for those who can’t decide on what to get.

 

Frozen Margaritas (PHP 180)– Because margaritas are always a good idea!

 

Except for the Sweet Revenge (topmost left layered drink) and the Stoplight shooters (bottom), all cocktails are buy one take one! You can also order them by carafe for sharing (PHP 385).

The Scampi Shrimps with Artichokes and Beef Salpicao are my picks from this bunch. They are great choices for pulutan or as snacks.
