ย The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residencesย
When in Manila, you could feel the holiday rush already. Christmas sales are here and there, people going out to buy presents and other holiday cheers, mall hours are extended โtil midnight, and letโs face it โ traffic jams get seriously bad this time of the year.
I still have a lot on my Christmas list, but thinking about getting stuck in a traffic jam just makes me want to coo at home. Then I thought, what if I just stay somewhere near the mall to get all of these Christmas things done? I get all my Christmas shopping done and I also get a bit of staycation. Win and double win!
Good thing I met The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences – a cozy nook located in the heart of Salcedo Village, Makati City. Just a few steps away, actually, from the weekend Salcedo market.
It’s a nice place to stay in after all the shopping, and also a good place to be in just in case you need to return to the mall and get some things done. Although I missed the weekend market due to some errands, my busy weekend schedule still made my stay worthwhile. See, the location of Picasso was just perfect for my scheduled Christmas shopping, pampering, and picking up someone from the airport.
All of these I did without the hustle bustle of the Makati streets! I’d also recommend staying here if your Christmas party is just in the Makati area. Why get stuck in heavy (read: HEAVY) traffic jam on your way to the party / going home when you can comfortably stay in a hotel?
The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences
One Saturday found me checking in at The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences. Tired from the dayโs shopping, I was so glad that my cozy, comfortable room was waiting for me. Good thing the staff were efficient and not to mention friendly and professional.
ย Can’t wait!
ย Every floor has art decorations, making it a mini art gallery on its own
ย Like this! Can your room number get any cooler?
After a tiring day, this is exactly what I needed. Bliss!
ย See the painting on the side? My stay here made me feel like
I’m staying in a very comfy art gallery.
ย Their baths are also very nice and clean. Perfect place to distress with
a warm bath. Love it!
ย Even their toiletries are packed in neat, artsy stuff
ย Honestly, the Picasso is the first hotel I’ve been in that allows cooking.
Perfect for lazy Sunday staycations.
Hello, comfort!
My tired body instantly fell in love with the bed as soon as they met. Proof? The social media addict in me did not (I repeat, DID NOT) do FB-ing and Twitter-ing that night. It was so serene, I just had to take that opportunity to rest from all the hustle bustle. The following morning greeted me with delight as I went to the Brasserie for breakfast.
Don’t you love early morning breakfasts? Look at Salcedo – so peaceful! Very un-Makati.
ย And what a better way to start your Sunday than with bacon ๐
ย We also got this longanisa. The Braserie has a buffet table (with cold cuts, bread, pancit, cereals, etc), but they also give guests 2 additional breakfast meals.
After breakfast, I just blogged a bit but had to leave early since I had to pick someone from the airport. See, Picasso, being in Makati, is nearer the airport than my place in Pasig. Talk about convenience. Before I left, though, I decided to check the hotel’s amenities.
They have an in-house art gallery which is open to the public (yep, non-guests can drop by)
This is the on-going exhibit
ย Art enthusiasts are welcome to visit!
ย This is also one nifty place to have meetings
I ย really want to go back to the Picasso soon. The location is very nice for those who want to get things done (like shopping, going to Christmas parties, staycation) but would also like to avoid the very busy Manila. After all, it’s Christmas season. Why stress your self out?
ย Til we meet again, Picasso!
