The Philippines Ranked Seventh Highest Performing Country in Esports

Gaming is making waves in the Philippines and in a recent study, the Philippines ranked 7th best-performing country in the World for Esports earnings.

With players earning the equivalent of 12 times the net annual average salary, the Philippines showed average player earnings exceeding $178,045.60.  The game producing the highest earnings is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Ranking #1 is Jordan and Malaysia earn 24 times their respective net annual salary to equal their average player earnings. Jordan has higher average player earnings (€723,340.21) and net annual salary (€30,745.18) than Malaysia with €557,516.16 and €23,463.37 respectively. Both of their highest-paid games are Dota 2. Malaysia currently ranks 28th in the Fifae Nations series, while Jordan does not appear on the scoreboard.

Dota 2 occupies 50% of the top ten results. This MMORPG is featured in multiple esports tournaments, the most popular being ‘The International’ hosted by Valve where the prize pool is up to $47.73 million, hence its occupancy in the top six of these results.
