‘The Good Place’ Will Be Ending After Its 4th Season

NBC’s fantasy comedy The Good Place will be seeing its last season of ethical dilemmas and moral questions. The popular show which centers around the afterlife and its mysteries ends after its fourth season. Unlike other tragic show cancellations, this short-livedness was actually the choice of The Good Place‘s creator and creative team.

Series creator Michael Shur, who also created Brooklyn 99 and Parks and Recreation, announced the news on the show’s official Twitter. He explained that a lifespan of 4 seasons or around 50 episodes was just the amount needed to tell their story. While there may have been times they were “tempted to go beyond four seasons”, they are sticking to their resolve in presenting a story that isn’t over-done.

Shur also spent a moment to thank the creative team who are the life and soul of this show for taking a chance on a “very weird idea.

” He ends the statement with a message for them, saying “we ask the question very frequently, on this show, what do we owe each other? The answer, for me, is: I owe all of you a whole lot.

The Good Place is widely loved for the quality and consistency of its story-telling. From developed and realistic characters to original plot lines and comprehensive world-building, the show has always covered all of its bases. It takes a lot of restraint for a team to know when enough is enough, in order to preserve that quality in the first place.

While this news may be sad for all its fans, it also demands a huge amount of respect.
