Kids who grew up in the โ80s and โ90s are surely familiar withย Theย Karate Kid, the martial arts drama that followed a teenagerโs journey to learning karate. The story will be introduced to a new generation of kids as YouTube Red is producing an online sequel with 10 episodes!

The sequel will be calledย Cobra Kaiย and will bring back the original filmโs starsย Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. It will be set 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, with Zabkaโs character Johnny Lawrence reopening the Cobra Kai karate dojo. The move reignites his rivalry with Macchioโsย Daniel LaRusso, who is now successful with his own dojo.

The Karate Kidย was released in 1984 to critical and commercial success. It spawned three sequels and a remake in 2010.
The series is expected to premiere in 2018.
