The Biggest Volunteer Convention in the Philippines is Happening This October

UNICEF is a name known by many Filipinos today. UNICEF or the United Nations Children’s Fund was created by the United Nations General Assembly for the purpose of providing aid to the children and mothers devastated by World War II. Currently, UNICEF operates in various countries around the world to promote and protect the rights of every child–which includes the right to healthcare, education, and safety. UNICEF Philippines is one of the first UNICEF offices established in Asia, with the same goal of helping each child be protected and reach their full potential.

To generate more awareness, UNICEF PH has a volunteer arm which extends to student-led organizations in seven universities: Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University – Manila, University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines – Diliman, University of the Philippines – Manila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Taguig, and Lyceum of the Philippines University – Manila. These students hold various projects in their respective organizations such as community engagements, tutorial programs, medical missions–those of which aim to provide support to children in fully realizing their rights.

These passionate and driven individuals are coming together to organize the Filipino Youth Volunteer Convention or FYVC 2019, the biggest volunteer convention in the Philippines that celebrates and links organizations that fight for various advocacies, to current and future volunteers in the Philippines. This will be held on October 6, 2019 at SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
