Frank Zappa, an American musician, once compared the brain to a parachute. “It doesn’t work if it is not open,” he stated. Our brains are functioned to think and go beyond social norms, but how often do we truly practice such act?

In the spirit of sparking conversation and innovation, TEDxYouth@SJCS is on it’s way to their second year – this year with the theme “Uncensored: Perspectives Worth Changing.” In line with such a theme is a roster of notable speakers who wish to impart a piece of their mind to a wider audience. Some of which include Hon. Marvic Mario Victor F. Leonen who will talk about the age of social media in retrospect to freedom of speech, and Ms. Maria Cristina Bawagan, a martial law victim and human rights activist who will delve deeper on the topic of historical revisionism.

“Uncensored: Perspectives Worth Challenging” will be held on the 6th of February, 2019 from 1:00 to 6:00 PM at the Father Peter Yang Hall of Saint Jude Catholic School. This event caters not only to the youth, but to all those who seek to unmask different perspectives in the hindsight.

Registrations are free and interested applicants may sign up at bit.ly/TEDxSJCS2019.
