Following its return to the stage last academic year, Teatro Tomasino, the premiere university-wide theater guild of the University of Santo Tomas, returns for its 47th season with its first major production, Tahanan.
The production is a twin bill featuring the coming-of-age stories of Reya Laplana’s “Sa Lilim” and Jerome Ignacio’s “Kublihan.” Both feature two protagonists who meet each other for the first time in a long time in their old haunt, where they reminisce about their past and ponder the future.
The choice to use these two similar coming-of-age stories and the Tahanan theme is a deliberate one, as it’s also tied to this year’s theme—Sisid. Jed Porlaje, Artistic Director of the 47th Season, says that Tahanan aims to introduce and invite new Thomasian audiences alike and engage them in “a familiar feeling that comes from the deep and meaningful relationships we’ve forged with spaces and people we’ve come to consider as our own personal Tahanan.”
As Teatro Tomasino opens its doors for its upcoming twin bill production, Tahanan, the theater guild invites Thomasian and non-Thomasian audiences to join them for the production.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of Teatro Tomasino’s Tahanan! Book your tickets now and watch the production on November 7, 8, and 9 at TARC Auditorium, University of Santo Tomas.
