Teacher Who Lost Job Earns Money by Selling Snacks and School Supplies — Here’s How You Can Help

This private school teacher is finding ways to earn a living after she lost her job due to the shutdown of schools during the pandemic.

On Facebook, a netizen shared the story of Teacher Eloisa “Ely” Gicar, who travels all the way to Savemore Glori in Novaliches, Quezon City from her home in Caloocan every day just to sell snacks and school supplies.

Kuhaan mo ko picture, ilagay mo ako sa Facebook para madami bumili sakin (Take my picture and post it on Facebook so that I can get more customers),” Teacher Ely had told her.

If ever dadaan kayo sa Savemore Glori, please bili kayo kay nanay kahit isa lang sobrang malaking bagay na yun sakanya, araw-araw daw po sya sa tapat ng Savemore! Isa po syang teacher before kaso nawalan ng work dahil nagsara yung school. Sa Caloocan pa po sya nakatira, bumi-byahe pa papuntang Savemore Glori para dun maglako ng tinitinda nya,” netizen Ayver Palma said on her post.

[Translation: “If ever you pass by Savemore Glori, please buy from Teacher Ely no matter the amount, it will go a long way for her. She stays in front of Savemore every day. She was once a teacher but lost her job because of the shutdown of schools. She lives in Caloocan and travels to Savemore Glori just to sell her supplies.”]
