In my first post about Taylor Swift, I mentioned how I wouldn’t be able to go to her concert. I did not have tickets. But the most amazing thing happened! Two days before the concert, Vince Golangco, the founder and publisher of When In Manila, e-mailed us asking who wanted to go and cover the REDTourMNL. I forgot about sounding professional. I was using these weird emoticons and trying to prove that I am indeed a true legit fan.
And so, I was allowed to cover the event! I didn’t have tickets, but I got passes!
So after writing three articles on Taylor Swift, he asked me to write about my Taylor experience as the “uber fan” that I promised him I was.
Honestly, by then, I was at a loss for words. I was trying to think of other things to say about Taylor that I hadn’t said yet in my three previous articles. And then I saw this photo from Taylor’s Facebook page:
And I realized that a picture really does paint a thousand words. So that was me during the concert.
Hearing her sing the songs that have helped me through a lot of ups and downs just moved me. At some point, it was really embarrassing because people around me were singing and dancing to the beats like this:

But now, looking back, if there’s one emotion that stands out from the amazing experience I had, it’s gratefulness. I’m so grateful to When In Manila for opening such great opportunities and experiences to its contributors.

I’m also so grateful to my friends who shared in my joy and excitement, (both Swifties and non-Swifties alike) and to my parents who picked me up all the way from the province just so I could catch her live.

And of course, I’m grateful for Taylor. For all the people she’s helped through her songs, and for an absolutely amazing #REDTourMNL experience.
