Taylor Swift Pulls Out All Albums from Spotify
Since music streaming services hit the main stream, Taylor Swift has been known to not be into them. According to a post from The Guardian, even her previous album entitled “Red” was not made available on music streaming services instantly. It was released on music streaming services only after some time to generate sales.
Thus, it is quite predictable that her newest album, “1989”, is also not out on music streaming services. In addition to this, in an unprecedented move, Swift pulled out all of her previous albums from Spotify. Only one song from the said singer is available on Spotify, the song “Safe & Sound” from the album “The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond”.
Although her previous albums are still available on other music streaming services, Spotify is big in music streaming that it takes pride of having a user base of around 40 million users and 10 million subscribers. This is why it is quite puzzling why she took off all her music from the said music streaming service.
At present, the album 1989 is gaining more sales and leading towards becoming the best-selling album in its first week by a female solo artist in the US. At present, the album is expected to have sold more than 1.3 million copies, and if so, will break Britney Spears’s record in her debut back in 2006.
What do you think is the reason behind the pulling out of Taylor Swift’s albums on Spotify?
