Isangdaan Para Sa Bayan is a fundraising initiative led by The National Teachers College (NTC) High School Batch 2015 to provide medical supplies for our frontliners serving COVID-19 patients and to provide support to our drivers from the SuperTsuper.
Despite the unfortunate circumstances brought about by the growing cases of COVID-19 in the country, healthcare providers continue to selflessly fight the pandemic by attending to the needs of hospital patients everyday. But with the lack of protection, they are vulnerable to contract the diseases they tirelessly fight against. The group believe that to be able to protect us, we must protect them first.
Meanwhile, in line with the recent extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has issued the continued suspension of mass transportation operations. This measure has affected the livelihood of our beloved drivers who have always been there to transport us to different places in our everyday life.
With this, the initiative was started by a group who only wants to take part in society. Now that most of their high school batchmates have graduated already and some of them were and are currently scholars from different Colleges and Universities, what the batch have in common and that according to them, the least thing that they can do for now is to give back.
Furthermore, for the project’s first batch, the group aims to provide PPEs and N95 masks to our frontliners in Chinese General Hospital. They also aim to give cash donations to at least 50 drivers and their families who are part of the SuperTsuper Facebook group, which was started by another group.
They also believe that a donation, big or small, will go a long way especially at times like this. This was the reason why the group named the initiative as it is.
If you would like to donate and help their cause, you can deposit cash via BDO, BPI, PayPal, GCash, or PayMaya, the account details of which can be found below. For donations in kind, you may message their Facebook page for more details.
They also plan on pursuing the second batch of donations which they will partner up with small hospitals that are accepting patients infected with COVID-19.
They acknowledge that we do not know when this crisis will end, but the actions we do today proves that Filipino Bayanihan has always been the best weapon to succeed over any battle and crisis.
As our drivers and frontliners face the impact of COVID-19, may we also take part in extending our assistance to them in ways we can. Learn more about Isangdaan Para Sa Bayan by visiting their Facebook page at facebook.com/100ParaSaBayan.
