Earlier this week, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved a fare increase of P1 on jeepneys from 8 to 9 pesos covering the National Capital Region, Region 3, and Region 4.
This fare increase will count as the minimum fare for the first four kilometers starting this afternoon (Thursday, July 5).
This comes after a petition that public utility drivers made in September 2017, asking to increase the jeepney fare prices due to the increase in fuel prices.
