Tagumpay at Trahedya

Teatro Tomasino, the university-wide theater guild of the University of Sto. Tomas, presents its first major production for its 36th season entitled “Tagumpay at Trahedya”. Directed by Palanca Award-winning playwright and Teatro Tomasino alumnus Jose Victor Z. Torres, “Tagumpay at Trahedya” will be staged on November 27, 28, and 29 (10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm) at the Tan Yan Kee AVR, Tan Yan Kee Student Center, University of Santo Tomas.

Tagumpay at Trahedya is a twinbill production of “Huling Gabi sa Maragondon” and “Mabini: Utak ng Himagsikan” both written by multi award-winning playwright Rene O. Villanueva. Remember the revolution through the lives of the greats whose stories we bring to life in Huling Gabi sa Maragondon and Mabini: Utak ng Himagsikan.

Bonifacio and Mabini. The insurgent and the intellect. Never forget.

Witness as we magnify the stories of Andres Bonifacio and Apolinario Mabini. The play brings to life stories about some of our country’s overlooked heroes. Huling Gabi sa Maragondon centers on how the arrest of Andres Bonifacio (affected the lives of his wife and close acquaintances and how it) greatly  influenced the course of the Filipino revolution during the time of the Spaniards. On the other hand, Mabini: Utak ng Himagsikan presents the life story of Apolinario Mabini, from his childhood to his downfall.
