LOOK: This Global Hackathon is Looking for Pinoy Innovators to Help Them Change The World

In September 2015, leaders all over the world gathered and settled on 17 Sustainable Development Goals that aimed to end poverty, inequality, and climate change by the year 2030. As we inch closer to that target date, it’s going to take a whole lot more than just talking about it and waiting for these goals to happen; it’s time to act upon them, collaborate with others, and find practical solutions with the resources we have.

Now more than ever, we need the creativity and passion of the youth to create a sustainable plan to achieve the Global Goals. After all, the youth comprises half of the world’s population. They have the power to change the world — and they can do so through the Youth Power Hacks Hackathon!

The Youth Power Hacks Hackathon is a global online initiative organized by Unilever together with two inspiring civil society organizations, Project Everyone and Restless Development, which all share a desire to empower the young generation to lead the Agenda 2030 forward and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the next three months, participants in six different countries including the Philippines will have the opportunity to make their voices heard.

Young Filipino innovators are now being called on to proudly represent the country and use their ingenuity in developing tangible solutions for pressing issues that will positively impact their home communities. Whether it’s finding ways to improve the health of citizens or combat climate change, or ideating programs to promote gender equality or provide opportunities for the underprivileged to get better access to education, no dream is too complex to become a reality.

If you’re a young Pinoy with a vision to build a better future, then apply now to be part of the Youth Power Hack on April 23, 2021!

It’s time to change the world one idea at a time.
