Woodland Resort – Zamboanga City’s Serene Outdoor Getaway

If you’re looking for a semi-private getaway from the bustle of Zamboanga City, look no further! Woodland Resort is a natural haven that can be the exact refresher that you need. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but that means it’s usually not too crowded with other people, either. Whether you want a romantic weekend with your sweetheart or you’re bringing the kids along, there are lots of activities here to make sure everyone has fun out in the sun. Personally, when my fiance and I were living in Zamboanga City, we found this to be a great, reasonably priced resort – perfect to spend special occasions at.

Of course, no resort would be complete without a swimming pool, and Woodland Resort has two! One is a small, shallow pool for younger kids and families to just sit in, and the other is a much bigger pool that has a shallow end, as well as a deep end for splashing around in. There is also a small waterfall in the bigger swimming pool, which we had fun sitting underneath while the water poured down over us! The pools stay open late, too, and since we were spending the night in a room there, we were able to enjoy many hours in the water both during the sunlight and the moonlight. If you rent a room, you will also get free access to the pool as long as you are there!

Right by the pool are conveniently located cottages for you to place your stuff at or to have a meal. They are wrapped in netting to keep out the bugs. The cottages are free to use if you have a room. If you don’t, then they will cost Php150-300 to rent out. What I loved the most about the cottages is that you can call the staff over and order food without having to leave the poolside!

Speaking of food, the food here is great, too. My fiance and I have visited this resort multiple times, so we’ve been able to try out several different dishes, and everything was great. One of my favorite Filipino viands is kilawin, and the kilawin here is one of the best that I have ever tasted! Everything is very fairly priced for the quality and amount of food that you get.
