Wolves x Boars x Houndz - Beasts Unleashed!

In the annals of Pinoy rock, no other animal is as ferociously sounding and can rock as hard as these bands. Featuring the melodic thrash metal symphony of Wolfgang, the blues driven hard rock sound of Razorback and the rap metal maestros, Greyhoundz. Sorry, kids, this isn’t your petting zoo.

Year 1999 was the first time these three bands got together to headline a show. That was a recorded show for Sony which was also released as an album called “Soundcheck: The Live Recordings”. Though there were some gigs that also included the three bands together but they never headline a tour like this one.

Fast forward to December 2013, It was the first attempt to reunite the three bands together at Excess Superclub in Timog but Wolfgang vocalist Basti Artadi got sick and his band was dropped on the bill. Then on May 2014 an organization in Cavite made up a Wolves, Boars and Houndz concert in my hometown of Cavite City entitled “Kalampagan 2014”. It was supposed to be an epic night since Juan Dela Cruz guitarist Wally Gonzales will be jamming alongside Razorback. Unfortunately it was cut short during the middle of the ‘Houndz set wherein the local police pulled the plug of the power outlet as per the Mayor’s instruction. It was not clear what have gone wrong or what cause the stoppage of the event. The last words from the organizers is that they will reschedule this in a later date and yet it never happen.

Third time’s the charm as this year’s gig was a success. The place was literally jam packed with rabid fans ready to banged their heads! It was held at 12 Monkeys Bar which is also co-owned by Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda. The show was opened by instrumental hard rock act Earth Mover.
