Vios Cup 2014: The 2nd Leg of the Country’s Biggest Motorsports Festival
When in Manila, gear up as the number one automotive company in the country brings you the country’s biggest motorsports festival: the Vios Cup!
My heart couldn’t help but race for excitement when I received an invite for the 2nd leg of the Vios Cup Motorsports Festival at Clark International Speedway. The success of the first leg made the second event something to look forward to.
Each of the 30 racers on track definitely aimed for better standing compared to the last leg. The roster of racers consisted of 5 celebrities (Rhian Ramos, Sam Y Gogna, Phoemela Barranda, Fabio Ide, and Jinno Rufino), 3 motor media personalities (Paulo Subido, Angel Rivero, and Mico Halili), and 22 individual teams (including Inaki Araneta, Dominic Ochoa, Steve Bicknell, Luis Gono, Carlos Castañedas, Jason Choachuy, and Allan Uy, among many others).
The racing competition started with a warm welcome from Mr. Michinobu Sugata, President of Toyota Motor Philippines.
The cars then paraded on the racetrack with gorgeous, head-turning models.
The racers were then asked to state their Oath of Sportsmanship led by Mr. Ariel Arias, SVP for Marketing of Toyota Motor Philippines, to ensure a clean race.
Being close to the actual racing competition gave me an unexplainable adrenaline rush.
From the roar of the engines to the skidding of tires, experiencing the race up-close was definitely one for the books!
