UPMMC challenges you to see Math in full color

It may not be most people’s favorite school subject, but Math can be beautiful in its own way. The University of the Philippines Mathematics Majors’ Circle (UPMMC), a UP-based student organization, annually hosts a Math competition for high school students called MATHirang MATHibay. This year is its 30th iteration, and with such a big event, it seems appropriate to celebrate with bold colors. So we celebrate this year’s competition with the theme Spectrum: See Math in Full Color.

The theme honors the diversity of the fields of Mathematics from Algebra to Trigonometry to Combinatorics and Probability. Students from around the country will compete against each other as they test their knowledge on these fields and try to win the grand prize: a plaque, the golden trophy with their school’s name engraved, and Php 20,000 cash.

MATHirang MATHibay will be held on February 26 at the UP Institute of Mathematics and the UP NISMED Auditorium. To learn more about the competition, you may visit the website https://upmmc.org/
