Trump Isn’t Pleased with ‘Parasite’s Oscars Win: ‘What The Hell Was That All About?’

President Trump isn’t too pleased that a South Korean film won Best Picture in this year’s Academy Awards.

Parasite Bong Joon-ho

“How bad were the Academy Awards this year, did you see?” he told the crowd during a rally in Colorado on Thursday, February 20.

“And the winner is … a movie from South Korea,” he said, impersonating the announcer of the awards night. “What the hell was that all about? We’ve got enough problems with South Korea with trade, on top of it they give them the best movie of the year?”

He then expressed his desire for more movies just like the American classics from decades ago, namely Gone With the Wind and Sunset Boulevard.

Parasite, directed by Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho, took Hollywood by storm after it was nominated for six awards and brought home four, including the coveted Best Picture and Best Director.  It tells the story of a poor family who infiltrate the home of a wealthy family to demonstrate the gap between social classes in modern Seoul.
