Touching Memorial Tribute On Kuya Germs’ Walk Of Fame Star

Even when he is gone, this is proof that the Master Showman’s light will never go out.

News of the passing of German Moreno, also known as Kuya Germs and one of the pillars of Philippine showbiz, rocked not just tinseltown but the whole nation as well, whom he relentlessly entertained for decades.

Since starting out as a comedian more than 50 years ago, Kuya Germs has since served as father figure and mentor to several of the country’s brightest stars and has touched so many lives, that this memorial was set up for him on his star at the Eastwood City Walk of Fame, as spotted by our Senior Features Editor, KC Canlas.

The Master Showman actually founded the Eastwood City Walk of Fame, recognizing the Philippines’ biggest stars, patterned after the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While many know him as the “ring man” of That’s Entertainment, responsible for catapulting many performers into stardom, and for his 18-year-long show Walang Tulugan as the Master Showman, Kuya Germs was one of the movers and shakers of the local television industry throughout his career.

Kuya Germs died of cardiac arrest at the St. Lukes Medical Center in Quezon City, where he was confined since January 7 after suffering a stroke. He was 82.

Thank you for the many years of pure entertainment and sleepless nights, Kuya Germs. You will be missed.
