Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Will Have His Own TV Series!

Tom Clancy is one of the world’s most celebrated authors, with 17 of his novels enjoying bestseller status. His most famous fictional character is Jack Ryan and he has been portrayed in film through the years by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine. Now, he will have his own series and he will be played by John Krasinski!

The new TV series will follow Ryan as he attempts to stop a “new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.” A new trailer has been released and it shows a group of agents abducting two men to be brought to Krasinski.

Ryan worked in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), working in a variety of positions until he became the deputy director. He would later become the president of the United States, serving two terms and dealing with various international crises. He has appeared in the Jack Ryan series of novels, including The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, The Sum of All Fears, and many more.

The new series will be produced by Amazon and will have eight episodes. It will premiere sometime this year.
