Tokyo Olympics Audience Left In Awe Of Margielyn Didal’s Positivity in Skateboarding Finals

All eyes are currently on Filipino skateboarder Margielyn Didal thanks to her infectious positivity while competing in the Women’s Street Skateboarding Finals in the Tokyo Olympics.

The young athlete, who hails from Cebu, was photographed smiling and holding a “thumbs up” sign which the official Tokyo Olympics Twitter account has hereby dubbed “the Margielyn Didal Seal [of] Approval.”

The photo proved just how happy Didal was to be in the competition and represent the country, and netizens from all over the world couldn’t help but applaud her great show of sportsmanship despite placing seventh out of eight in the final rankings.

“Excellent sport spirit of this athlete! Really inspiring!” one said in the replies.

“She is amazing and demonstrated a lot of fair play,” another mused.

“She’s so cool! Wanna see her again in 2024 Olympics,” another added.

An international sports writer even shared a GIF of Didal dancing on the sidelines, saying, “no one is having more fun here than the Philippines’ Margielyn Didal.”

Didal failed to nail four out of her five tricks in the final held at the Ariake Sports Park after apparently competing with an ankle sprain and garnered a total score of 7.52 at the end. Despite this, it’s clear that although she did not win the games, she definitely won the hearts of Olympics fans everywhere!

Pinoys are also now making calls for government officials to build world-class skate facilities in the Philippines to help train more world-class skaters in the future.
