Tiny Kitchen and Dulce Vida: Where Spanish Cuisine and Delectable Dessert Creations Make a Delightful Davao City Getaway!

I heard loads of good reviews about this restaurant that when I finally got a scheduled business trip to Davao City, I emailed the owners if I could drop by and have a taste of their highly-rated Spanish dishes and delectable pastries. Luckily, they were very accommodating and invited me to their not-so-tiny restaurant called Tiny Kitchen along F. Torres Street.

As I entered the restaurant, I quickly noticed that the customers were from different age groups, all seemed to be “at home” with the place. The interior has a homey and friendly ambiance with yellow walls and rustic furnishings.

At 5 o’clock in the afternoon, the place was already packed with groups of families, friends and students.

The restaurant’s homey ambiance is perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or loved-ones.

The owners, Vincent and Donna Rodriguez, actually started a bakery business in a public market in Davao City way back in 1998. When they realized that majority of their customers come from institutions and not from the low-end market, they created Tiny Kitchen and have moved to two other locations before they settled at their current place in 2012.

The couple wanted a casual and affordable restaurant that will showcase Vincent’s Spanish heritage and Donna’s pastry creations. Vincent is the Chef of this restaurant and over-all in charge of the kitchen while Donna takes charge of the baking commissary and operations. All the dishes were actually inspired by traditional Spanish recipes from Vincent’s mom mixed with a dash of Filipino cuisine to come up with an impeccably tasty combination.

Here’s a parade of the sumptuous dishes that we have tried at Tiny Kitchen. I literally drooled when these dishes were served in front of me, much more when I got to taste each of them. Oh so yummy!
