Another Philippine destination gains international recognition. On July 20, Time Magazine announced their list of 100 World’s Greatest Places of 2021. One of the entries on this list is our very own Siargao.

In the entry, Time Magazine highlighted Siargao as a spot “best known to a dedicated band of surfers lured by consistent waves.” The magazine also mentioned the many properties and vacation rentals popping up on the island, such as “‘the beachfront Inara Siargao Resort, an intimate five-suite property that can be booked on Instagram.”

The additional cell towers recently given to the island were also mentioned as being “a boon to tourism when it reopens to vaccinated international travelers.”

The 2021 list of World’s Greatest Places is Time Magazine’s third annual list as “a tribute to the people and businesses at the forefront of those industries who, amid extraordinary circumstances, found ways to adapt, build and innovate.”
