The Round Table: A Yummy Daily-Themed Buffet That Will Suit Your Budget

I love great food. Perhaps, eating is my best talent. That is probably the reason why I have gradually become a fan of all-you-can-eat restaurants. However, these food establishments can also get pricey and, sometimes, the quantity defeats the quality of the food. Good thing I discovered an affordable all-you-can-eat restaurant with a smaller variety of dishes, but with greater quality in taste.

The Round Table, which opened April this year, is yet another great discovery in Kapitolyo, Pasig. For a price of only Php 295, you can enjoy sumptuous meals served on a different-themed buffet each day. Bonus part: just by liking their page, you only need to pay Php 199! Wi-fi is readily available too.

I visited this latest discovery with my boyfriend one afternoon. It was just a small place, with a 25-seating capacity. But that is what I liked about it. It somehow gave me the vibe of exclusivity.

According to its main chef and owner, Ms. Mia Capay, it was called ‘The Round Table’ simply because you will choose the food from a round table. The restaurant serves a variety of dishes fit for its daily-themed menus. And the dishes also vary every week, giving the customers an element of surprise with every visit. You may expect a larger crowd every Friday and Sunday because of its roast beef carving. So it’s best to have reservations. Walk-ins, however, are welcome too. Every weekend, chefs also get to play with their menu. So prepare your taste buds for something new.

Now let’s move to my favorite part: eating!

IMG 3315Adobo sa mangga

This is one of the restaurant’s ‘rockstar’ dishes and a crowd favorite according to Chef Mia. And there is absolutely no doubt about it. They made use of bagoong instead of soy sauce, and green mango puree in place of vinegar. Topped with garlic chips, this dish bursts with flavor. And you must not miss it.

The generous amount of walnuts, mandarin orange, and cherry tomatoes definitely gave this salad a boost. Accompanied with an equally-yummy apple cider-based dressing, one may consider becoming a vegetarian.

Chef Mia shares this is popular among the yuppies and office crowd every Friday. And I completely understand why. This dish is full of love. Marinated for a minimum of 10 hours and roasted on low fire for 6-7 hours, I am definitely sure this will also be your favorite. The gravy on the side is made of its drippings too, making it extra yummy. Warning: this can be addictive.

The rich flavor of gata made this dish extra special. I liked the crunchiness of its pork skin too.

I usually eat sisig made of pork served with rice. So this one is quite new to me. The roast beef sisig has the right amount of spice in it. Surprisingly, I liked it with the very crunchy wanton cups. I would love this served as appetizer for every party.

The Round Table is also open for catering and delivery. For more inquiries, you may visit their official Facebook page or get in touch with them through the contact details listed below. The staff and its owner are very accommodating, too. So I can guarantee great service as well.

If you want to try an affordable all-you-can-eat restaurant with fresh and superb quality dishes, I strongly recommend you visit The Round Table. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
