The Hippie Project – an Online Shop with a Stroke of Genius

The Hippie Project

Because hippies dress up well too

The Hippie Project

When in Manila, it pays to be fashionable. You dress up well and you feel better about yourself. For me, fashion is wearing something comfortable and looking good in it. We all have our own comforts and styles, unconventional and mainstream alike.

When I first saw the online shop of The Hippie Project, I fell in love with it almost instantly. Their new collection at that time was Bohemian-inspired, and it honestly excited the free-spirited me. I could identify with the clothes, and I guess that’s another big thing about fashion.

The Hippie Project is an online shop dedicated to offering something very hippie – “unconventional, and rejects normality and seeks for spontaneity and expanded consciousness”. The shop is the brainchild of Josef Karol Egwaras – a second year Interior Design student from UP Diliman. That young? Yes. Apparently one can never be too young to start a business. Entrepreneurs, take heed.

Why “The Hippie Project“? According to Karol, it is the shop’s project to stay true to the meaning of hippie, and to spread that kind of thinking through are clothes. Each collection has a specific theme, random ones, to suit their customers’ varied styles.

The Hippie Project’s collection is a clear expression of how Karol sees fashion – fresh, young, and free. Well, not exactly free as in you could just ask her for the clothes. But free as in, free spirited :)) But but but, close to being free in the monetary sense, clothes from The Hippie Project usually just cost around P150 – 250. Not bad for something funky!

The Hippie Project There’s only one of each item and that’s because they want to keep the individuality of it all, that you’re the only special one who’s wearing an awesome top or bottoms

When in Manila, be sure to get your dose of hippie from The Hippie Project. It’s sensible fashion wear with equally cool prices.

They update their catalogue bi-weekly, so you’re sure to get something fresh out of the oven.

Their clothes get sold in as fast as a few minutes after launching new stocks, btw. Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂
