When we hear the name “Tomas Morato”, we immediately think of bars and clubs with loud music, booming lights, and a chaotic rush. However, this new bistro introduces a completely different atmosphere to the area – a romantic and calm affair at Terracotta Bistro Manila.

Located along Tomas Morato Avenue corner Don Roces, its bright-white marquee caught our attention. It looks so classy and appealing, giving “fun night” a different meaning.

From the warm greeting at their door, we were welcomed by this stunning wine cellar. We immediately thought that it would look perfect on our feed, and we were right. This spot is all over Instagram with pictures already posted by influencers, visitors, and bar patrons.

Seated at the centermost comfortable orange couch where we could see the bar façade in front of us and the street view through the glass window behind us, we were able to appreciate how well-thought-out and executed the place is.

The setting is inspired by a beautiful European horse stable, with a blend of modern and vintage interiors. It was designed by one of its owners, Geo Ward (@geowardstudio on Instagram). Cozy furniture and fixtures, inviting low lights, a stylish and dramatic staircase, and some plants that provide organic warmth are some of the impressive choices tucked into this space.

By the staircase is a gorgeous black horse with a lamp on its head, facing the inside of the restaurant, which represents perseverance, success, and energy to keep on moving ahead in life.

Upstairs is the VIP lounge that depicts a sophisticated library with its walls, stylish glass tables, varied comfy seating, and embellishments of collected artful pieces. This area is available for reservation at a consumable rate.

The bistro has a mellow and elegant charisma. It may make you feel intimidated at first but because of its modest and embracing ambiance, we felt that it is for everyone. Our family and friends are sure to have a great time here.

With shelves of wines on the wall, Terracotta is home to wines of excellent quality and finesse. It is a haven for wine drinkers. Even with the wide selection of drinks at the bar, the bistro prides itself on creativity and originality. Their very own Long Time No Sea cocktail, a Bacardi base served with fresh oyster, is a must-try!

Their intercontinental dining is a new gastronomical experience. The menu is well-curated and satisfies every mood at any time of the day. One of our favorites is their Lobster Thermidor, oven-baked with roasted seasonal root vegetables. Their Paprika Braised Smoked Pork, Gamberoni (tiger prawn), Almond Crusted Fillet Salmon, Burrata Salad, and flown fresh French Oysters are excellent too.

We finished our dinner with desserts – Ube Cheesecake, New York Cheesecake, and Blueberry Cheesecake. The texture of the cheesecake is unusually good. However, my personal favorite is their Tiramisu.

Their superb service is the cherry on top. The beauty of the place complements their excellent offering. We truly had an amazing time, and we highly recommend Terracotta as a must-visit for your next wine-drinking and dining with your family and friends.
