Hey, 90s kids: remember the teen drama television series, Tabing Ilog? It’s officially making a comeback…as a stage musical!
Twitter was abuzz last week as ABS-CBN Starhunt posted a couple of cryptic photos on its official Twitter account that featured certain images and elements which resembled that of Tabing Ilog. Fans started to speculate that a remake was coming and expressed their excitement on social media.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long for an official announcement because these social media accounts named “Tabing Ilog The Musical” practically confirmed it.

Tabing Ilog aired from March 1999 to October 2003 on ABS-CBN. It stared Paula Peralejo, John Lloyd Cruz, Patrick Garcia, Jodi Sta. Maria, Paolo Contis, Desiree del Valle, Baron Geisler, and Kaye Abad who played best friends. It gained a cult following among the youth and garnered a PMPC Star Award for Television’s Best Youth-Oriented Program.
It’s unclear whether Tabing Ilog: The Musical will be a retelling of the original story or an update on the characters’ lives after the ending shown on the series.
