Tabang Tambayan: Pamasko ni Juan, a Benefit Concert

In light of recent calamities experienced by our brothers and sisters in Visayas, with the country, the silver lining group plans to extend their help to those in dire need.

The silver lining project is a movement started recently (September, 2013) by friends who are moved to help society through art. The Group’s first activity, “Illuminate: a basic photography workshop”, dated last September 23, 2013 was a success. The proceeds of that activity were given to the children cancer patients of the East Avenue Medical Center. The silver lining grouped planned to create a continuation workshop for the illuminate series. But with certain twist of events, there has been a change in the plan.

The Silver Lining Project, together with Primarch and Mommy Projects, will be having a benefit concert for the survivors of Yolanda (Dated December 14, 2013) entitled “Tabang Tamabayan: Pamasko ni Juan”. “Tabang” in the visayan language, means help or “tulong in tagalog. The group aims to collect as many donations through the concert itself for the benefit of the Yolanda survivors, particularly in two islands in Busuanga, Palawan.

The donations we aim to collect are both in kind— a donation of one bag containing:

• Water

• No cook food, like easy-to-open canned goods and biscuits

• Clothes

• Medicine especially for cough and colds

• A basic hygiene kit

We are also accepting monetary donations to be able to fund the relief operations.

Aside from accepting monetary pledges that can be deposited through the PCGA District 4 bank account, we would also be selling Bangon Pinas shirts. Each shirt that is bought automatically donates a Hope Kit—a canvas bag containing:

• A baby pillow

• A Tagalog Bible

• A devotional

• A journal

• A children’s book

• A medicine pack

The collected goods will be delivered through the assistance of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary’s District 4 (Northern Palawan) together with the commendable efforts of AirJuan and Operation Airdrop.

This concert aims to put together up and coming artists as well as household musicians from the industry who want to help the cause sincerely. We look forward in achieving the “Bayanihan Spirit” we Filipinos are well known for through feel good, comforting music in this time of despair. We move as one, Tabang Tambayan.
