This news was confirmed by the producer of the noontime show, APT Entertainment, in an interview with PEP.ph.

According to Michael “Mike” Tuviera, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APT Entertainment, they had gathered all the hosts, cast, and crew of the show to tell them the announcement personally.

(“The others found out already beforehand but it was the mandate of my father [Antonio P. Tuviera] to approach them after our show,” he explained. “Because it really did become a rule when you had to announce to everyone that, ‘We are ending it here, we plan to end it here.’ So he really went, we were complete, all the producers and management, and we all told them, all of them, not just the hosts but also the crew, staff, everyone.”)

But how did the cast and crew react to the news?

According to Jerald Napoles, tears were shed that day.

“We weren’t told why, exactly. And we couldn’t bring ourselves to ask, because some of us just fell silent, trying to process the news. Lovely [Abella] started crying,” the actor told Inquirer.

It was most upsetting, he shared, knowing that the show had been doing well ratings-wise. “May hinayang (We feel dismayed) because we didn’t have problems with ratings. We became No. 1. In a way, that made us feel confident that the show would stay for a while,” he added.

Despite this, he said that he along with everyone on Sunday PinaSaya will just “do our best” in the last couple of episodes that are left for the show.
