Subic Grand Seas: The Ideal Budget Getaway at Subic Bay

Subic Grand Seas: The Ideal Budget Getaway at Subic Bay

Subic Bay is known to provide unforgettable experiences to both foreigners and Filipino locals with its extreme adventures, diverse array of cuisine, culture and awesome leisure activities. To experience a good number of these, a day tour simply isn’t enough, though. As such, a sulit budget getaway would be highly recommended, and that’s where Subic Grand Seas comes in.

Last summer, we went to Subic Bay for our own budget getaway before our deadly classes started, and we had a pleasant overnight stay at Subic Grand Seas. We were really pumped up about this trip since it was our first time to have stay at the Subic Bay area overnight. Plus, it was also our longest road trip to date. The last time we were in the area was during our ‘adorable’ 4th year high school field trip to the Zoobic Safari. Our goal was therefore to  make brand new memories along with our further-explored freedom as senior college students hahaha!

The ideal budget getaway in Subic Bay is located at the seafront of the long Barretto Beach, and is around 3 hours away from Manila – just 5-8 minutes away from the busy Subic Freeport Zone. Going to Subic Grand Seas is quite a long ride from Metro Manila, but what I love about it is its proximity to the Subic Freeport Zone and every basic thing that you’ll find within the city, making it the ideal place for our barkada’s overnight stay. 🙂

We were a group of four and got two Twin Deluxe rooms. We were given a maximum of a single door card for each of our rooms as a security measure. Right after our check-in, we were accompanied by the Subic Grand Seas staff to our rooms; but before lurking and relaxing in the rooms, we explored the  surroundings first. We even spotted a wedding being held on the day of our visit. Sweet!

The resort has 22 Deluxe rooms (Twin and Double Deluxe combined), a Grand Sundeck Area where the wedding was held, a spacious function room, infinity and kiddie pools, the beachfront, the Crab Loco Restaurant and a parking area. The fairly large parking area allows an estimate of 25 cars to be parked inside the premises.

Aww.. what a nice backdrop for a wedding!

It was the ongoing wedding that really made us go outside first. While it was definitely a special moment for them, it was also a special moment for us since it was our first time to witness a beach wedding.. (insert “My Heart Will Go On” instrumental tune here)

After checking out the Subic Grand Seas environment, we went back to our room for some R&R!
