Speck is an Industrial Design exhibit featuring the thesis works of the graduating industrial design batch from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. The exhibit will be opening on August 15, which will be running until August 19 at the Design Center of the Philippines, CCP Building, CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay, 1099 Metro Manila. Speck will feature nearly 23 works by the students; innovations, design solutions, product inventions, and prototypes.

Speck is synonymous to dot or point, which introduces us to the Elements of design—a point is the fundamental tool a designer or artist uses to build a composition. Speck can also be identified as a period—the end of a sentence. These definitions define Speck; and to us, designers, it represents an end of a chapter and a start of something new.

Mark your calendars! Save the date! The opening ceremony will take place on August 15, Tuesday at 5:00-9:00 in the evening. The event will not only show the works of the students but you will also hear the pitches prepared by the candidates for best thesis, which will be deliberated by a jury and will be followed by the awarding of the winners chosen. If this isn’t exciting enough, there will also be games to entertain the guests, refreshments, cocktails, and food!

Speck is not only an exhibit, but also an event that can serve as a platform to connect with different people, share new ideas, exchange creative thoughts, and to serve as an opportunity for designers.
