Despite shocking the world with a surprise Las Vegas wedding after the Billboard Music Awards, it turns out that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are actually planning for a proper wedding ceremony after all.

In an interview on the Zach Sang Show back in April, Joe Jonas revealed that the two are preparing to be wed in France. And even after the Vegas event, a source told PEOPLE just recently that it’s still happening.
“The wedding is still in Europe,” the source said, explaining that the couple had to make their marriage legal in America first before they tie the knot in Europe.
Joe also shared on The Late Late Show with James Corden back in March that they hope to have a summer ceremony, which means it’s definitely much closer than we think!
Regarding whether their Europe wedding will be made a spectacle of or not, Sophie Turner mentioned in a Harper’s Bazaar UK interview back in March that they are hoping to make it small and much more personal. “We’re trying to keep [the wedding] as low-key as possible so it’s more of an intimate thing,” she said.
She also confirmed that her real-life best friend Maisie Williams will be her maid of honor.
