Veteran Actor and Hagibis Member Sonny Parsons Passes Away

Singer-actor Sonny Parsons has passed away on Sunday, May 10. He as 61 years old.

According to his son to ABS-CBN News, Parsons succumbed to a suspected heart attack due to heatstroke while on a charity drive with his motorcycle club in Tayabas, Quezon City. No further details have been confirmed.

His family has yet to finalize the burial arrangement for Parsons, who was also a datu, following Muslim tradition.

Parsons was known best for being a member of the iconic 70s group Hagibis, coined as the Filipino version of the Village People, whose popular songs include “Legs,” “Katawan,” and “Babae.” Other than being a musician, he has acted in many action films from the 80s to 90s and also played a guest role in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano in 2017. He was also elected as Marikina City councilor for one term.

He last performed with Hagibis during the concert of Imelda Papin in October last year at the Philippine Arena.
