Already on its second installment, the Siege of Baler 2, themed “Pangalawa Na ‘To Pake”, is a joint project by the Manila Surfers Association and the country’s pioneer action sports brand, Stoked Inc. So what exactly will you get out of heading over to Baler this weekend?

Whether you’re a summer beach bum or a hardcore fan of surfing, this is one place you cannot afford to miss simply because Baler will be filled with people just like you this weekend. Siege of Baler 2 promises to attract many surfers from across the country, from amateur weekend ones to sun-burnt seasoned pros. Want to make new friends for next summer’s beach season? This is the place to be. Want to shake hands with and watch some of the surfers you only hear about? Siege of Baler 2 is the best place to be to ride the same waves as these guys!
The Event
Make no mistake: Siege of Baler 2 is a competition designed to let some of the Philippines’ top surfers show off their skills. It promises to be action-packed, with the following categories on offer: Novice Men’s, Novice Women’s, Open Shortboard Men’s, Open Shortboard Women’s, Open Longboard Men’s, and Open Longboard Women’s. There will also be an Invitational Category – sure to provided much entertainment over the weekend! How else can the event be any better? Siege of Baler 2 will feature Wildcard entries on Day 2 (Sunday)!
The Cause
More than just a fun and exciting event, the Siege of Baler 2 surf competition will also benefit a great cause. The Ruperto Zubia Sr. Elementary School in Sabang, Baler will be the recipient of the proceeds from the competition. This is due to many local Baler-based surfers having gone to school here, as well as being the current school for many young pro surfers-to-be. In fact, should you be heading over to Siege of Baler 2 this weekend, feel free to bring along school supplies such as pencils, notebooks, and ballpoint pens to help the kids out with their education.
