It seems that the Pretty Little Liars star has been keeping a big secret from the public (for at least 6 months!). Shay Mitchell revealed via social media just a few hours ago that she’s expecting — and we mean that in the baby way. She first posted a photo on her Instagram account artfully showcasing her baby bump with the teasing caption: “Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the carpool lane at all times now?”

She also released a short video on her YouTube channel explaining why she opted to keep the pregnancy a secret for so long — “over the past six months” in fact. Shay shares that she wanted this period of her pregnancy to be something private and personal but that she was excited and ready to come out about it now. She said:
When you’re in the public eye, there are some things you want to just keep a secret until you feel ready. This, for me, has been the hardest. It’s going to be really fun and awesome when I’m not trying to hide it anymore.

Along with the reveal was a promise to keep her fans updated as she wanted them to be with her on this journey. Every other Wednesday there will be a new video on her channel chronicling her pregnancy.
