Remember ‘Shaman King’? It’s Officially Getting A Long-Overdue Reboot!

If you grew up watching anime, chances are that you’ve watched or heard of the then-popular show Shaman King. It ran for about a year with 64 episodes in total and was beloved by viewers across the globe. Sadly, the anime never really was able to tell the whole story of Shaman King as it ended before the manga, written by Hiroyuki Takei, was ever completed.

Now, the whole story is finally going to be told.

The sudden announcement of the Shaman King reboot dropped on Friday, June 12, on the show’s official website. The “completely new animation” is set to adapt all 35 volumes that ran from 1998 to 2004.

Shaman King follows the story of Yoh Asakura who embarks on a quest to hone his shaman skills and become the Shaman King, who will bear the power to change the world in any way he wishes.

The reboot is scheduled for release in April 2021.
