Hollywood actor Sean Connery, known for his portrayal of James Bond, has passed away. He was 90 years old.
The tragic news was confirmed by his family to the BBC News today, October 31. According to his son, he had died peacefully in his sleep while in the Bahamas, having been “unwell for some time.” The cause of his death has yet to be disclosed.
“We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time,” he added. “A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”
Connery was the first actor to play James Bond on the big screen in 1962 and is highy regarded as the best one to have ever portrayed the 007 agent.
