Is A ‘Scott Pilgrim VS The World’ Anime Reboot In the Works?

A “Scott Pilgrim VS The World” reboot might be coming in the near future and it might be in anime form!

Director Edgar Wright (best known for his Cornetto Trilogy films) opened up about the possibility of revisiting the beloved comic book series by Bryan Lee O’Malley to Entertainment Weekly and creating an animated version instead of a direct sequel to the 2010 live-action movie which starred Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

“There’s some plans — and there’s nothing official yet — but there are some plans to revisit the material in an animation way,” Wright said. “We’ve been talking with Bryan and with Jared [LeBoff, the film’s executive producer,] for a while [about]: What if we did something with the books in anime form? It’s being discussed as we speak.”

Bryan agreed that he would like to “revisit the characters [in comic form] and see what they’re up to” when the opportunity presents itself.

It’s still an idea that has yet to be realized into a concrete plan, but we’ll be holding onto hope
