Samsung Philippines‘ first netbook release – the Samsung Ultrabook

When In Manila, get tuned in with the latest gadgets in the market, especially those that suites your mobile lifestyle. When I got an assignment and invitation to a Samsung Philippines‘ event, I immediately said “Yes!”. Being a writer in an Android online tech magazine, I know they are up to something good. In partnership with Intel, they had the Philippine launch in Privé Club at The Fort Strip for their new Samsung Ultrabook, a netbook laptop under the Samsung ULTRA line of gadgets.

Samsung Ultrabook is big enough of a sensation that Samsung executive and Business Adviser for IT James Kwon was there himself to grace the event. Known tech bloggers and media flocked Privé to finally have a look at this exceptional new product of Samsung Philippines. Since it was a product partnership with Intel, Samsung Ultrabook gives you the best of what Samsung and Intel can both offer for your convenience.

Though pads and tabs have its way with mobile people, it still cannot do functions like graphics editing and even just the simple excel functions so lightweight laptop still has a place. The downside with most small and thin laptops is that they are slow and unreliable but Samsung Ultrabook has a different way. Just slightly over a kilogram, it already has the functions that you need with Intel’s latest processors together a six gigabyte memory and wait for this – a terabyte worth of hard drive! This got some chills of excitement in the spines of tech bloggers with me.

While sleek and thin means fewer USB drives without Optical Disk Drives and SD card slots to some brands, this is not the case with Samsung Ultrabook. In fact, it its the only netbook with an Optical Disk Drives and not only that, does some disk writing too! The battery life in full optimal usage runs for a full 6.4 hours which is good for writers and bloggers on the go, especially in cafés that does not allow charging of laptops.

Makes you want to have one, isn’t it? Top entrepreneurs were lucky to be chosen by Samsung Philippines as their brand ambassador and each got a Samsung Ultrabook.  Juliet Herrera, Alfie Sy and Eugenio Gonzalez, the enterprising minds behind Serenitea, Cash Cash Pinoy and Quick Delivery respectively are the new brand ambassadors. According to Eric Sulit, the Business Unit Director for IT of Samsung Philippines, these are the top entrepreneurs who exemplified their slogan of grabbing the best of opportunities. Samsung Philippines even raffled one unit of Samsung Ultrabook for the guests but unfortunately, I was not able to get one but I enjoyed my day!
