In case you missed it, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie Part 1 & Part 2 will be available on Netflix worldwide (outside of Japan) starting June 3. The latest installment is a continuation of “Sailor Moon Crystal,” the 2014 reboot of the anime which first aired in March 1992. This reboot is a more faithful adaptation of the original manga by Naoko Takeuchi.
What to expect in the 2021 two-part Sailor Moon film? Well, the story begins when a dark power enshrouds the Earth and the Dead Moon Circus appears! Their mission is to turn the world into a planet of death!
Now, it is up to the Sailor Guardians to reunite and bring light back into the world for love and justice.
The Eternal movie is directed by Chiaki Kon. He is also the director of the Netflix manga series ‘The Way of the Househusband’ and ‘Nodame Cantabile: Paris Edition & Finale’.
Meanwhile, anime and video game series composer and arranger Yasuharu Takanashi is responsible for the latest films’ music. He was also the creator of the music in ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal’ and ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Season III’. Aside from the Sailor Moon franchise, Takanashi also created music for ‘Beyblade G-Revolution’, ‘Hell Girl’, ‘Ikki Tousen’, ‘Naruto Shippuden’, ‘Fairy Tail’, and ‘Shiki’.
The character design, on the other hand, was the work of Kazuko Tadano–the OG character designer and animation director of the first two seasons of the Sailor Moon anime and Sailor Moon R movie. She was also the Chief Animation Director of ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens’.
