10 LGBT Films and Shows that Really Resonated with Filipinos

In celebration of Pride Month, Netflix set out to determine the important role that shows and films play in influencing audiences’ perception and attitude towards the LGBTQIA+ community. A new survey released by Netflix found that some of the Philippines’ favorite shows and films are helping to create empathy amongst viewers.

Out of 900+ respondents in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao, 71% of Filipino viewers watched shows and films to better understand the world, and 63% reflected that watching content with LGBTQIA+ characters or themes represented helps them better understand, empathize, and interact with the LGBTQIA+ community.
